The "WHEN" and the "WHAT" of Covid-19 funding

Many of us are involved in the challenges of schools closing for the semester this past May and now June and wondering how we will all look opening in September.

Then, also faced this year with how we are going to fund our different programs from our budgets that have had substantial changes combined with the wide spectrum of funding opportunities out there from U.S. federal Covid-19 related Bills to programs offered by the State, has left many districts confused on the way forward.

We should all be aware that most Covid -19 funding sources for schools in the United States have come through the Department of Education under the ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) and GEER (Governors’ Emergency Education Relief).

While these two programs have been discussed in the past, we just need to understand two real significant issues, the “WHEN” July 2021 date for most applications to be into your state through your district, and “WHAT” these 190 billion dollars can fund.

The good news is these Acts have several direct criteria that apply to Boxlight and CleverTouch which are “Purchasing Educational Technology”, improving how teachers deliver and communicate their lessons through all sorts of methods.

This includes a wide range since two of the other criteria are open also that “Provide principals and other school leaders with resources necessary to address their individual schools” and a wide range of “sustainment efforts” like our inter-active classroom capabilities. This next year can be even better if we all work together to utilize the sources we have. We can help. Fill in this form and we'll get in touch with more information.
